Chris White Designs Atlantic 47 MastFoilThe new Atlantic 47 offers exciting improvements over her earlier, smaller sisters, including the revolutionary MastFoil(patented) rig, an expanded pilot house, and an innovative galley up/galley down configuration. The A47 MastFoil is a great performer, combining the sparkling sailing, great cruising livability and ease of handling that the Atlantic Cats are known for.  All in an affordable under 50' length!
The Atlantic 47 MastFoil and the slightly larger A49MastFoil have been cruised extensively by their happy owners, including the Caribbean, US East Coast and Bahamas, and the Pacific, including French Polynesia and Mexico.  Owners love the simplicity of sail handling, performance and interior layout.

A47 Key Features:

Pilothouse and Aft Deck
The Atlantic 47 incorporates two key features that Atlantic Cat owners love - an aft deck behind the pilothouse and the large pilothouse with very easy access to the hulls. The pilothouse on the A47 is larger than that on the A57! This is achieved by extending the house outboard, and by raising the floor level in the aft part of the hulls. The result is a spacious, low profile and highly functional house for a 47' cat. The generous aft deck has a bench to port, a high bulwark all around and a walk-through to starboard for easy access to the dinghy and swim step.

Galley
IMG 8900edit 1.250It's both galley up and galley down! The galley is only one step down from the pilothouse, with easy, open access between, so it is essentially part of the pilothouse, while at the same time having its own defined space. The cook can be part of the party, and still have a dedicated, practical work area. Plus, the galley has large windows, plenty of ventilation, and generous fridge and freezer.

Hulls
There are two cabins with queen bunks, and the option for a third cabin aft in the port hull. Also in the port hull is the signature Atlantic Cat workbench/work area, a dedicated work space for those inevitable projects...

Sailplan
A47 pilothouse
The A47 can be rigged with either the patented MastFoil rig, or a traditional sloop rig. The traditional rig features a self-tacking jib, with all running rigging led to the cockpit for fast and secure sail handling. A variety of light  reaching and running sails can be rigged.

Safety
Atlantic Cats have an excellent safety record. Robust construction, smart design and sail handling, and indoor watch keeping capability all help to minimize crew fatigue and make for safer
and more enjoyable sailing. All boats are built with watertight collision bulkheads, and 9587.lr.ed.250equipped with emergency capsize habitation in the unlikely event of a capsize.
